This is actually our second baking site, but it's only our first physical location. Half Baked Sioux Falls opened its doors in late August 2014 thanks to the efforts of Katie Knight and Stuart Daniel.  You'll undoubtedly notice how awesome it smells, because we bake everything on site in our kitchen at the back of the store.

Our little shop has seating for over 50 people, with several cozy options beside the standard table and chair combo.  Feel free to drop your kids off at the small play area and have some adult time at a nearby table. You can also play any of the card or board games we have on hand.

Atypical.
Different.
Unique.

Half Baked Sioux Falls is owned and operated entirely by millennials (the generation that reached adulthood in the early 2000's), but don't believe the stereotypes.

Pink, polka dots, and lace are used oh so sparingly.

We're a small family business. We're not all related, but we've known each other for years.

Katie is currently the only female working here.

Half Baked is the brain child of Emily Knight, now known as the "cupcake fairy" of Sheldon, Iowa. She started making cupcakes in her home based on the recipes of her Aunt Marge and brought them to special events, to rave reviews. Soon after, people started ordering her cupcakes, and not long after that, being no stranger to entrepreneurship, Emily thought about officially starting her own cupcake business.  So she did, and with the help of her daughters she found a name: Half Baked (because starting a cupcake shop willy nilly is a pretty half baked idea, but what the hey.
It wasn't long before Emily earned the title "the cupcake fairy" by delivering her amazing confections to the northwest Iowa area. Things were swell going. It was her daughters, again, who stepped forward and said she should open another shop in Sioux Falls, and it was Katie, the intrepid adventurer, who took the reigns of the newest of half baked ideas. Together, with her college friend and roommate Stuart Daniel, she opened Half Baked Sioux Falls. And they all lived happily ever after.
